Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time, without having to switch between devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual gets you up and running in no time. You'll have a the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it can crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks are required like emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand although we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.
As with the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best options available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop that is high quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also very quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another notable feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It can also get under low-profile furnishings which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice touch that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect if the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It does have many characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a useful way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There's Going On this page of settings available which include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also has many features that aren't offered on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
